&#38;nbsp;

 When using electronic devices as smart phones, the frequency of blinking is reduced by 40%, and staring closely into the screen increases the chances of gaining eye related syndromes as CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome) or xerophthalmia.

 A VR game was produced to counteract these conditions by prompting eye exercises.

The player who is chasing, uses VR to find the target (the locations of other players on the run) by moving their eyes and neck around.

 If the chaser stares into one spot for more than a certain period of time, an alarm sets off with a distortion of vision making it much more difficult to play the game.

These implementations help the eyes to exercise. In the long run, it is prospected to help prevent eye syndromes.

 Two runners play on exterior monitors and game pads whilst only the person chasing can use the VR device. The player can choose 4 sides of directions through staring. The runners may hide away from the stares, in the shadows of objects. The game ends when either the chaser catches all the other runners, or the runners collect all of the keys

		<description>The Hole

VR, Shovel

2021

When the game starts the player is inside a hole and there is a shovel on the ground. The player picks up the shovel and starts digging at the bottom of the hole. Inside this game, the A.I. is motivating the player to do the Captcha labor to educate them. By cheering and giving applause as the player starts mining at the bottom of the hole, the players are motivated to keep playing the game. The clapping hands disappear when the player stops shoveling. When repetitive labor is done, the player’s elevation gets lower and lower inside the hole.
In the game, the hole symbolizes a data mines where workers keep working behind the scene and the act of shoveling and solving captcha puzzles are menial works done by people which is called data labeling. And lastly, the cheering hands are the big corporations and A.I system giving superficial motivations for their personal gain.
 In the past, coal miners did dangerous work at low wages, and as machines developed and resources dried up, the whole mining industry entered a declining phase. Wouldn't data labels also have the same ending as traditional miners? What will happen if A.I. develops to a point where humans are not needed? What will happen to the structure of human labor when this time comes? With data increasingly becoming a key resource, the importance of human labor is diminishing. So who will guarantee the workers' social safety net?

		<description>Apnea

Multiplayer VR,
Respiration sensor, Mixed media

2023

Inside Apnea, your presence is synchronized with your breathing. If you hold your breath, you disappear and enter another world.

 In this work, I express the metaphor of communication through the media characteristics of VR. Inside Apnea, two audiences wear a respiration sensor and an HMD in separate spaces. When they breathe, they see the actual space through the pass-through lens, and their avatars are visible. But if they hold their breath, their avatars disappear, and they enter a virtual space. The only moment the two players can see each other is when one player is breathing, and the other is holding their breath at the same time. Each time they succeed in seeing each other, one cloud is added to the sky, where the virtual clouds synchronize their breathing.

Through this action, the work speaks about low-resolution communication. Sometimes we are in different spaces but share the same moment, and at times we are in the same place but not together. I think of relationships as moments when you and I exist in different worlds but share the same moments. Even if you are conversing, you may not be communicating. You&#38;nbsp;and I exist as separate entities in the world, and the moments that you exist in my perception of the world become only a momentary point when we communicate. After that moment, you disappear from my consciousness, but that doesn't mean your existence has disappeared. For the moment when you and I exist in the same space, it takes a lot of patience, effort, and sometimes coincidence. And when that moment of communication ends, your presence disappears, but your traces remain.

Wallflower
VR game
2019

How do people confirm their existence in the digital space without physical interactions? In Wallflower, the player's existence is indicated by two inversely proportional variables: presence and energy. The presence and energy must be balanced for the player to survive. Players in Wallflower maintain physical forms by socially interacting with others.

The aim of the game is to avoid getting a game-over for the main character at a party in the given time.&#38;nbsp;

If the player keeps still, the presence decreases but the energy level increases. If interactions and conversations are made with others, the character’s presence scale will increase but decrease in energy. As such, the two scales are inversely proportional. It becomes critical to spend time wisely, keeping the two scales in balance away from dropping to zero.

Faking Devil’s Advocate

Multiplayer PC
2021

 Faking Devil’s Advocate is a multiplayer game about the tension created when an individual opposes the community’s opinion and the pressure on the minority. We live in a democratic society. However, it does not always verify our freedom of expression. Sometimes we are forced to choose an unwanted stance to strategically appear to belong to a particular community.

 Players of the game enter one server and have to position themselves between “agree” and “disagree” as each question appears. They are standing on unstable ground that works like a seesaw or scale. Inside this game, moving towards the left means agreeing with the question, and moving towards the right means disagreeing. One part of the game consist of 20 questions and 15 seconds is given to each question. If the ground is tilted to one side when the time runs out, the ground flips, and everyone falls into the void. Therefore, we sometimes have to move ourselves to an undesirable position to achieve the community’s goal. If you don’t want to move your stance, there is another way to alleviate the board’s angle while standing on the same spot. By hitting the “M” key on the keyboard, a player can use the “wearing mask” function. If players wear masks, their weight becomes zero. All the players characters look the same and only the player themselves can see if they are wearing a mask. When the player takes off the mask, their weight turns back to normal weight. However, every time the player wears a mask, his weight slightly decreases. If a player wears masks without moderation, player’s opinion will lose its weight.
